Novak Djokovic at Indian Wells 2009
The 2009 Indian Wells has started since a couple of days. Novak competes in this first Masters Series event of the year played in Calfiornia in the United States. Djokovic has to forget the humiliating Davis Cup defeat against Spain. Serbia lost 1-3 and Novak lost both his single matches in straight sets. First he was defeated by David Ferrer 6-3/6-3/7-6(4) and in the final day he lost to Nadal too 4-6/4-6/1-6.
The Djoker has already reached the Round of the last 16 at the Indian Wells tennis tournament. He benefited from a bye in the first Round, this means that he qualified directly to the 2nd Round. Next he defeated M. Vassallo Arguello with 7-5/6-4 to reach the Round of the last 16.
Djokovic will play German Tommy Haas today for a place in the Indian Wells 2009 1/8 finals. If the favorites will keep on confirming Novak is on collision course with World Number 1, Rafael Nadal, in the semi-final stage. Before that, he could collide with American Andy Roddick in the quarter-finals. You should remember the Roddick was the one that defeated Djoko in the Australian Open 2009.
This will surely be an exciting tournament. You can watch the Indian Wells live online, too, if you don’t have access to any TV coverage. Make sure that you don’t miss the final stages of the tournament!
