Novak Djokovic in fourth round
Novak Djokovic made his way into the fourth round at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells as he beat world no.64 German Tommy Haas in straight sets 6-2, 7-6(1) in 1 hour and 47 minutes.
The 21-year old made a break in the opening game and then held for 2-0. Haas could’t find the rhythm. Djokovic was dominant and he broke again in the fifth game to go 4-1 up. He took the set 6-2 in just 31 minutes.
Nole broke his opponent’s service in the third game of the second set, but the German broke back immediately to level the score 2-2. The Serb failed to convert four break chances in the sixth game, and then faced scare in the next. He saved two break points and equalised to 4-4. Djokovic earned two more break points in the eleventh game, but Haas held and the set went to a tie-breaker. Defending champion made three mini breaks and won it 7-1.
Novak’s next opponent will be the winner of the match between no.16 seed Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka and world no.49 American Sam Querrey.
