Is Nole ready to win the French Open?
The clay court season is reaching its highpoint. The Roland Garros is about to start. After 3 Master Series events played on the outdoor clay courts of Monte Carlo, Rome and Madrid the tennis world is getting ready for the 2nd Grand Slam event of the season.
The French Open starts on May the 24th and will mark the halfway of this season. Rafael Nadal failed last week to accomplish the clay court hat-trick after losing the Madrid Masters Final against his arch rival, Roger Federer. But a big contribution to Federer’s win had Novak Djokovic.
Nole played a superb semi-final against Rafael Nadal. The match was a record in terms of duration. It was the longest tennis encounter ever played in the 2 out of 3 sets system. Djokovic lost dramatically a semi-final that he seemed to control until the last moments. Novak won the first set 6-3 and control the most part of the 2nd set. The Spaniard never gave up though and proved once again that his the best tennis player in activity. Rafa won set 2 and 3 with 7-6 and finished the match after 4 hours and 2 minutes.
Djokovic left the Magic Box court shaking his head again and again failing to understand how he lost for the 3rd clay court masters tournament against Nadal. The question for all Nole’s fans is: Has the Serbian learned from all of this and is he ready to win the French Open? I guess we will have to wait and see. However Nole needs to improve his stamina as a Grand Slam encounter is a completely diferent affair. Watch the Roland Garros live and see what happens!
I hope you would not mind if I placed a part of this on my univeristy blog?
