Novak Djokovic and Jelena Jankovic are in finals of Hopman Cup
Novak Djokovic and Jelena Jankovic are playing in finals of Hopman Cup on friday, 4 January 2008 vs tennis players from United States of America. It wasn’t easy for Serbian tennis player to obtain for it. At tension game vs French tennis players (2 January) Jelena Jankovic withdrew leading 1:0 (vs Tatiana Golovin) because of injury of her leg, Novak Djokovic beat #54 Arnaud Clement 6:3, 6:3. Injured Jankovic and Djokovic were better than Golovin and Clement and won in doubles in three sets 5:7, 6:4, 10:4. Final score was 2:1 for Serbia!
In Thursday Jelena Jankovic still had problems with her leg so she was forced to withdrew (vs Gisela Dulko), but Novak Djokovic showed that he dont give up and outplayed Argentinian Huan Ignacio Chela with 2:0 (6:3 and 6:2). It was very hard for both in doubles, especially for Jankovic, but they demonstrated briliant performance and brought Serbia to the finals of the 20th Hyundai Hopman Cup. In Friday, 4 January Djokovic and Jankovic are playing vs representatives of USA Serena Williams and Mardy Fish. Match starts at 18:00 local time.
