First Grand Slam tournament in 2008 - Australian Open started on Monday 14 January 2008. Djokovic first match was on Day 2 vs 26 years old Benjamin Becker, the 81st in the ATP rankings.
First two sets were pretty easy for Djokovic 6:0, 6:2. But in the third set Becker started harder, raised his game in higher level. Nole showed his first signs of tiredness but not for a long. Becker was leading with 2:0 when Djokovic leveled score to 2:2. Third set was decided in tie-brake 7-5 for Novak Djokovic.
Second round match will be on Thursday 17 January. Djokovic next rival will be Simone Bolelli world nomer 70.
