Serena Williams and Mardy Fish beat Novak Djokovic and Jelena Jankovic 2:1. Williams happy because she played with Djokovic.

Representatives of Serbia at 20th Hopman Cup in Perth, Novak Djokovic and Jelena Jankovic didn’t took the trophy. Jankovic still had problems with her leg, so she handed win to Serena Williams. Djokovic had problems with his shoulder but he won game vs Mardy Fish after two hours and 27 minutes 6:2, 7:6(4), 6:7(4). Serena Williams and Mardy Fish outplayed Djokovic and Jankvic after 83 minutes of passionate fight. Novak Djokovic literally did everything to exempt his partner Jankovic but USA representatives were better and won in two sets 7:6(5), 6:2.
After the game Serena Williams thanked to her team and family and said that she is very happy because she had chance to play against Novak Djokovic and that that was a pleasure for her.

Novak Djokovic and Jelena Jankovic are playing in finals of Hopman Cup on friday, 4 January 2008 vs tennis players from United States of America. It wasn’t easy for Serbian tennis player to obtain for it. At tension game vs French tennis players (2 January) Jelena Jankovic withdrew leading 1:0 (vs Tatiana Golovin) because of injury of her leg, Novak Djokovic beat #54 Arnaud Clement 6:3, 6:3. Injured Jankovic and Djokovic were better than Golovin and Clement and won in doubles in three sets 5:7, 6:4, 10:4. Final score was 2:1 for Serbia! Read the rest of this entry »
